GORONTALO – The UNG’s MBKM (Emancipated Learning; Independent Campus) General Election program in villages will focus on political education and participatory supervision of the 2024 election. In this program, UNG collaborates with the General Election Commission (KPU) of Gorontalo Province and the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of Gorontalo Province, which will execute seven programs in the predetermined villages.
"The first activity is to carry out voter agitation, conducted by inviting people to exercise their right to vote and teaching them how to vote, especially for first-time voters," said UNG Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Eduart Wolok, S.T., M.T.
According to the Rector, students will later monitor elections in their respective areas. Also, they will recruit election volunteers with integrity, where each student recruits 15 volunteers in their respective areas.
“Students also carried out mass election campaigns with integrity. "The campaign will be carried out through social media, through simultaneous posts on February 6-10 of 2024. The program also collected data on influential figures in each village by students," he explained.
During the silence period, students will also assist KPPS (Voting Organizing Team) and PANWAS (Supervisory Committee) TPS (Polling Stations) to ensure invitations, election logistics and TPS are conducive. Especially on the day of the 2024 election, students will exercise their right to vote, monitor the calculations, report the results, and assist KPPS in other tasks.
"In this MBKM, students are assigned to carry out must-do programs and collaboratively. "Later, the Field Supervising Lecturer (DPL) will ensure that students can implement the seven programs set by the university," he concluded. (**)
