Gorontalo - The Rector of Universitas Negeri Gorontalo (UNG) held a relaxed discussion with the faculties, departments and study programs leaders of the Faculty of Social Science (FIS) UNG on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at the Humaniora Cafe.

In this discussion, Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Eduart Wolok, S.T., M.T. suggested many inputs regarding the future development of FIS.

"FIS must carry out profiling and modeling of each existing department following existing and appropriate academic foundations," he said.

In moving towards PTN-BH (Legal Entity State University), the UNG Rector emphasized that FIS must be ready to adjust mindsets and systems.

"The level of competition in every faculty within UNG will be higher as a PTN-BH. Each department and study program will later implement a periodic evaluation mechanism for all lecturers in the Faculty of Social Science," he explained.

The Rector invited all attendants to build academic trust.

“The Head and Secretary of Departments must map the expertise of each existing lecturer. The benchmark for the success of a study program’s output is the lecturers’ competence in teaching," he said. He hopes that with this discussion, all faculty, department, and study program leaders can team up to build an excellent and competitive vision for UNG.
