Gorontalo: Rector of Gorontalo State University, Dr. Eduart Wolok, ST., MT., And the Head of Representative of the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) signed a Memorandum of Understanding or a memorandum of understanding in the fields of teaching education, research, and community service on Thursday (7/5) at Gorontalo State University.

In addition to the signing of the MoU between UNG and representatives of the Gorontalo Province BKKBN, the Head of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), UNG also signed a cooperation agreement with the Head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of North Gorontalo Regency.

Gorontalo Provincial BKKBN Representative Head Hartati Suleman explained that the MoU with UNG was significant because the cooperation agreement involved Balitbang research institutions and community service in the Kencana proud program.

"Kencana proud program focuses on family development, population and family planning," he said.

Head of the North Gorontalo District National Narcotics Agency, Dr. Ibrahim Paneo, M.Kes., Revealed that the prevention, eradication, abuse, and distribution of narcotics could not be carried out by BNN alone. BNN must initiate collaborative initiatives with various parties. UNG, especially the LPPM, has a program related to the BNN in narcotics prevention and family resilience.

"In this cooperation agreement, we focus on research, community service, community empowerment, prevention and control of narcotics, psychotropic substances, and other addictive substances," he said.

Meanwhile, UNG Rector Dr. Ir. Eduart Wolok, ST., MT., Said that the cooperation would be meaningful if the collaboration and research implementation could be proven by decreasing the number of early marriages, free sex, and the use of narcotics.

"I hope this collaboration will be implemented soon," the Rector hoped.
