GORONTALO – The academic community of Universitas Negeri Gorontalo are committed to realizing the 2024 general election which will be held peacefully and with integrity. This commitment was shown through the declaration of peaceful elections delivered by the Rector of UNG Prof. Dr. Ir. Eduart Wolok, S.T., M.T., on Tuesday (13/1). The declaration was also followed by the academic community, including lecturers, education staff and students, which was carried out simultaneously through online forums.

The Rector said that UNG’s peaceful election declaration contained three points, including the academic community agreed to keep the election peaceful and with integrity, and to maintain participatory democracy.

"We have agreed to advance Gorontalo Province and Indonesia into a quality democratic country with an excellence and competitive UNG for Indonesia," said the Rector.

According to the Rector, this declaration was a response to various phenomena during the 2024 elections. A successful elections that are peaceful and with integrity is a shared responsibility, so UNG wants to take part in making it as successful as possible.

"UNG is committed to being at the forefront in creating a conducive and peaceful atmosphere before, during and after the general election. One concrete form of UNG's commitment is through the MBKM Pemilu (Emancipated Learning-Independent Campus focusing on General Eelction) program in villages and sub-districts, to safeguard quality democracy from the lowest level of government administration and to make this year’s election a success” concluded the Rector.
