Gorontalo: The Faculty of Education is working on opening new study programs. One of which is the Special Education Study Program. As one of the Study Programs that is being vigorously fought for, the Dean of FIP, Dr. Arwildayanto, M.Pd, admitted that he had a particular reason for seeking the opening of the Study Program this year.

According to him, one of the reasons for the initiative to open a Special Education Study Program was the unavailability of educators with unique educational backgrounds for Special Schools in Gorontalo Province.

"There are eight special schools and Autism Service Centers in Gorontalo that do not have teachers who have special education. For this reason, FIP took the initiative to open the Study Program to assist the availability of Special Education Teachers, "said Arwil.

In preparing for the opening of the study program, Arwil admitted that he had provided human resources for educators with a qualification of master's degree in special education, all of whom were graduates of the best state universities in Indonesia.

"This plan has received support from many parties, including the Regional Government, all special schools, and Autism Service Centers in Prov. Gorontalo, Higher Education Service Institutions and the Institutional Directorate of the Ministry of Education and Culture," he concluded. (Wahid)
