Reasons of Readiness of UNG to be PTN-BH

Universitas Negeri Gorontalo has met the minimum eligibility standards required in changing PTNBLU (Public Service Agency State University) to PTNBH (State Higher Education Institution of Incorporated Legal Entity), in accordance with Minister of Education and Culture Regulation No. 4 of 2020. This notice was stated by the UNG Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Eduart Wolok, ST., MT. at the Presentation and Evaluation of documents on the proposal to change PTN to PTNBH of Universitas Negeri Gorontalo which was held on Monday, January 29 of 2024 at the Century Park Hotel, Jakarta.

The Rector said that changing UNG to PTNBH is currently an attainable hope and dream to become an excellence and competitive university in developing regional innovation.

"UNG's existence in academics, human resources, finance, assets, CSR and role in development is ready to welcome the transition of UNG to PTNBH," stressed the Rector.

In 2023, UNG has achieved Excellent accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education, where 19 study programs are accredited as Excellent and 5 study programs have international accreditation. Also, student achievement at national and international levels from 2019 to 2023 increased sharply to 202%.

Still in 2023, UNG achieved a satisfactory rating from the result of the performance evaluation by the Directorate General of Higher Education and Technology. The Rector said that this award confirmed UNG's commitment to supporting the creation of transparent, efficient and accountable higher education governance. The audit of UNG's financial statements for the last 5 years has the predicate of Fair Without Exception.

"UNG has potential sources of Income Generating that will be developed, namely business centers, health service centers, sports facilities, scientific laboratory services, maritime agro facilities, MSME business centers and consultant services," said the Rector.

UNG has issued various policies that help students, such as providing seats for students in disadvantaged, frontier and outermost areas. UNG has also provided a policy of reducing the payment of the Single Tuition Fee (UKT) for students.

"Regarding the acceleration of regional development, UNG has been appointed by the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration as Village Supervisor to create a Special Rural Economic Zone in the Tomini Bay Area," he explained.

The Rector hopes that UNG's change from PTNBLU to PTNBH can be supported by the entire UNG academic community, the people of Gorontalo and also the people of the Tomini Bay area.
