Gorontalo: The Indonesian Student Debate Competition at the Gorontalo State University level is a place to prove the debating skills of Faculty of Law (FH) Students. In the competition held by the Student Affairs Division, the FH Student Debate Team emerged as the 1st place winner ahead of teams from other faculties.

Not only is the first winner, but the FH Team fronted by Sri Nurwanda and Riska Buhungo also recorded the first and second-best speaker achievements in this competition which at the same time made them represent UNG in a regional competition.

For this achievement, the Vice Chancellor for Student and Alumni Affairs, Prof. Karmila Mahmud, M.A, Ph.D., congratulated FH Students for the achievement. According to her, this success was a testament to the quality of FH students in this debate competition.

"This champion is exceptional because, in addition to appearing as Champion One, the FH Team has also succeeded in becoming the first and second-best speakers. Congratulations to FH for making this achievement," said Karmila.

Chairperson of the UNG KDMI Committee, Dr. Herman Didipu, M.Pd, explained that based on the assessment of the jury team, the Faculty of Law Team was the best by achieving the highest score of 524. They managed to outperform the Faculty of Economics Team in second place with a score of 478, and the Faculty of Letters and Culture Team was in third place with a value of 472.

"The committee and the jury try to be neutral and carry out an objective assessment as possible to determine the best team and UNG representatives at the next level," said Herman. (Wahid)
