Gorontalo - The Jambura Law Review (Jalrev) Journal, Faculty of Law, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo has been successfully indexed by Scopus and is the first journal to reach this milestone in Tomini Bay. Additionally, UNG and UNHAS are the only universities in Sulawesi Island with Scopus-indexed journals.

Dean of the UNG Faculty of Law, Dr. Weny Almoravid Dungga, S.H., M.H. expressed his pride and gratitude for this incredible achievement.

“This achievement is an early gift in 2024 for UNG and the entire academic community in Tomini Bay. On January 1, 2024, JALREV was declared to have passed the CSAB (Content Selection and Advisory Board) assessment conducted by Scopus,” he said.

The CSAB assessment process lasted four months. On August 31, 2023, the JALREV Team submitted 10 articles that had been selected for submission to Scopus evaluation.

“To be indexed by Scopus, JALREV has undergone several time-consuming processes since its establishment in 2019. The journal’s existence asserts UNG's commitment to reforming scientific publications in the form of Open Journal System,” he explained.

Weny continued, in 2021, JALREV, led by Novendri M Nggilu, SH., M.H. as Chief Editor and Mellisa Towadi, S.H., M.H. as Managing Editor, was ranked at SINTA 2 and increased articles to 10 articles per issue.

“Then JALREV continued to grow by involving several national and international Editorial Teams from the University of Melbourne Australia, Universidad De Zaragoza Spain, Nagoya University Japan, Edo State University Uzairue Nigeria, Aleksander Moisiu University of Durres Albania, Faculty of Law UNNES, Faculty of Law UNHAS, and several national and international reviewers,” he said.

After being declared Scopus indexed, Weny uttered that JALREV would be more selective in managing the substance of articles to achieve the best Quartile ranking with an assessment process over the next year by SJR Ranking.

UNG Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Eduart Wolok, S.T., M.T. hopes that this Faculty of Law’s achievement will become the "bundato" or trailblazer of UNG's achievements in 2024.

"This achievement ensures that UNG is moving towards its vision of excellence and competitiveness, especially as “The Engine of Tomini Bay,” said Eduart.
