GORONTALO – In supporting the development of the Tomini Bay area and North Maluku, the Gorontalo State University Gorontalo held a public lecture, Thursday (4/11). The theme of the public lecture that was carried out was to strengthen the position of the university in overseeing the development of innovation-based areas, by presenting expert staff from the Minister of National Development Planning/Bappenas Dr. Velix Vernando Wanggai, S.IP, MPA,.

Rector of UNG Dr. Eduart Wolok, S.T, M.T, in his speech said that this public lecture presented special speakers, who are figures from eastern Indonesia who held several strategic positions in the Ministry.

With a wealth of experience from the presenters, there are many things that can be shared with the younger generation of eastern Indonesia, especially UNG students. For this reason, Eduart asked students to take advantage of public lecture opportunities, to increase capacity and knowledge in welcoming the role of overseeing the development of an innovation-based area that will be developed in the Tomini Bay area.

“In the hands of the students, what we have initiated, namely the development of the Tomini Bay area, will be determined in the future. So use this momentum as well as possible, especially independent learning - independent campuses to increase your capacity and capability,” harap Eduart.

Meanwhile, the expert staff of the Minister of National Development Planning/Bappenas Dr. Velix Vernando Wanggai, S.IP, MPA, appreciates the national policy breakthrough in accelerating the development of eastern Indonesia which has been initiated by UNG. According to him, realizing the development of the area is a big task that must be carried out through joint work between all local governments.
