GORONTALO - To make the MBKM (Emancipated Learning; Independent Campus) Election program a success for the first time in Indonesia, Universitas Negeri Gorontalo will deploy 587 of the best students to carry out programs in predetermined villages in Gorontalo Province.
Through the MBKM Program, the UNG students will focus on conducting political education and participatory supervision of the 2024 elections, which will be carried out in collaboration with the Gorontalo Province KPU (General Election Commission) and the Gorontalo Province Bawaslu (Election Supervisory Agency).
"Hundreds of students involved in the MBKM Election came from various faculties at UNG. "They will later carry out MBKM projects in villages for 35 days, starting January 15 to February 20 of 2024," said UNG Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Eduart Wolok, S.T., M.T.
The best UNG students, said the Rector, will focus on carrying out activities for villages in 6 regencies/city, including Gorontalo Regency, Bone Bolango Regency, Boalemo Regency, Pohuwato Regency, North Gorontalo Regency and Gorontalo City. Apart from that, to make the program a success, students will be accompanied by a field supervising lecturer (DPL), who will oversee the implementation of the UNG election MBKM work program.
"Before going to the village, students and DPL will attend a coaching to ensure that they truly understand the MBKM election work program to be implemented so that the objectives of this program can truly be achieved," he explained. (**)
