Gorontalo: The two Candidate Pairs for President and Vice President of the Student Executive Board (BEM) UNG compete with each other on visions, missions, and work programs to win the hearts of potential voters at the 2021 Student democracy party. The two candidates paired through the Candidate Debate forum held by the Direct Election Commission, Friday (5/2), at the UNG Auditorium.

In his presentation, candidate pair number one Rezky Putra Mantali - Abdul W. Hulopi, representatives of the Faculty of Sports and Health and the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, strives to create a BEM UNG that is brave, evolving, mandates synergy, and innovative for UNG that is more superior and competitive.

According to Rezky, to support this vision, both have missions, including building an internal work system based on the intellectual strengthening of the understanding of BEM organizational management, supported through national and international activities through the principles of professionalism and openness-based organizational development.

"Several excellent programs include optimizing the performance of Ormawa and improving the performance of UNG Student achievements through the Berani Center," said Rezky.

Candidate pair number two, Rian Haka - Harianto Laode, representing the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Law in his presentation, is committed to realizing BEM UNG as a catalyst based on the Tridharma of Higher Education in creating aspirational spaces, intellectual development, creativity and culture of superior and competitive Students.

"For the implementation of the Vision and Mission, we launched three excellent programs, namely digitizing student aspirations, UNG unified, and UNG working," explained Rian.

Meanwhile, the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Prof. Karmila Mahmud, M.A, Ph.D., in her speech said that the candidate debate is very important because, through this activity, students can find out the vision, mission, and work programs that the two candidate pairs will carry out.

According to Karmila, students need to know the two candidate pairs' programs so that they can use their voting rights in the election for President and Vice President of BEM wisely.

"So that students do not only choose based on the fanaticism of Candidates, Departments, Faculties, ethnicity, and others. But the most important thing is that students can determine wisely what programs are offered, which in turn can benefit or bridge the needs of students," concluded Karmila. (Wahid)
