To increase the capacity and quality of education in schools in the province of Gorontalo and its surroundings, the State University of Gorontalo initiated the UNG Mengajar program.

Rector of UNG Dr. Ir. Eduart Wolok, ST., MT. in his remarks at the Vocational Festival on Thursday (9/6) at SMA 1 Boalemo said that currently, the Field Experience Practice (PPL) carried out by educational students is integrated with the Thematic Educational Community Service (KKN) in the Independent Learning Campus (MBKM) program.

“The UNG's educational students will teach for 4 months at school. This is what we will call the UNG teaching program,” he said.

The Chancellor said this program will have many impacts on schools. One of them is being able to fill the shortage of subject teachers in schools.

“For example, our students from biology education, of course we will prioritize schools that lack biology teachers by partnering with tutors. This will be one of our ways to increase the capacity and quality of education in our schools,” he explained.

The Rector advised the students participating in the UNG teaching program who were also present in the activity to maintain health, maintain the good name of the alma mater, and show that they were remarkable and competitive UNG students.

"Apply all of your knowledge, teach with sincerity, educate all of our students so that we can really improve the quality of education in Gorontalo and its surroundings," he said.
