Gorontalo: Rector of Gorontalo State University, Dr. Ir. Eduart Wolok, ST., MT., sent 161 students who participated in the Desa Membangun Community Service Program to Achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS) on Monday (5/4) at the office yard Institute for Research and Community Service.
Rector said that for the next two months, the 161 students participating in the Community Service Program would become UNG ambassadors to increase the capacity of villages in 3 sub-districts. It is known as Bilato, Biluhu, and Batudaa Pantai Districts.
"This is special because we are trying a new method. We don't bring the program, but we will identify the existing programs in the villages where we carry out KKN," he said.
The Rector added that during the implementation of the activity, KKN participants would do four things. Identifying problems, formulating solutions to problems, evaluating the solutions applied, making improvements, and perfecting the evaluations that have been carried out.
"If we can do these four things well, Insya Allah, the attendance of students in the villages where we carry out KKN will make a significant contribution," he explained.
The concept of the Village Community Service Program's goal will be adjusted to the achievement of SDGs 17 to 18 with the Village SDGs, namely a variety of local wisdom.
"It would be better if, in identifying problems, we adapt to the SDGs goals to be achieved. So that later we will have data for problems following those in the SDGs, the solutions we apply, and also their improvements," he concluded. (Rachmad)
