Ministry of Education and Culture: Chief Executive of the Indonesian National Commission for UNESCO, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), Arief Rachman, emphasized the importance of culture-based education to strengthen national identity. Furthermore, he explained that there are several elements for developing culture-based education.

"Piety, flexibility, openness, assertiveness, planning, independence, tolerance, discipline, risk-taking, sportsmanship, loyal friends, integrity, future orientation," said Arief in his online speech in Jakarta (5/5). He appreciated the webinar held by the Southeast Sulawesi Provincial Language Development and Development Agency in commemoration of National Education Day (Hardiknas) with the theme "Simultaneously Moves to Realize Independent Learning." Arief said that five things make education successful: piety, mature personality, cutting-edge knowledge that results in achievement, a sense of nationality, and a global perspective.

On the same occasion, the Head of the Language Development and Development Agency (Language Agency), Ministry of Education and Culture, Language, E. Aminduin Aziz, explained the differences in language education in each region, namely taxonomic differences arising from cultural diversity.

Aminduin Aziz explained that the Language Agency develops a Diversity Laboratory to formulate various teaching materials. Besides that, Aziz mentioned the competencies that an educator must-have. Competence is a monocultural and multicultural understanding. When educators carry out the learning process, students easily understand the learning context. It is because teachers have been able to identify monocultural and multicultural aspects of the classroom conditions they face.

"Whether our students come from the same culture or they come from different cultures, whether monocultural or multicultural, now this is very important," he explained.

Another speaker was Abdullah Alhadza, an education observer. He explained how important education is based on a cultural philosophy. Education not based on culture can gradate a nation and make that nation in the shadow of another nation.

Furthermore, Abdullah shared his life experiences; he told how the aspirations of the young Filipina. They were a country that America colonized in the past, and they longed to be American citizens.

It is different from Abdullah's experience when he made friends with a young man from Hong Kong. He understood that the younger generation there were more proud to be considered a British colony than as citizens of Hong Kong.

Abdullah explained that in the 21st century, various dynamics of change occur where we will find it challenging to maintain our heritage values. "We are reminded that we cannot survive with what we have, what we inherit even if we can take care of it. Take care of the good old values, then do not shut yourself off to accept new, better values," he said.
