Gorontalo: The Tomini Bay area has gradually been transformed into a potential economic place. Implementation of regional development by initiating Tomini Bay to become a rural-based Special Economic Zone.
The Agenda for Special Economic Zones, which UNG initiated, began by starting a Pre Regional Meeting between stakeholders in the Tomini Bay Area. The meeting, was opened on Thursday (4/3) at the Ballroom of the UNG Training Center, was attended by three Director Generals, namely the Director-General of Economic Development and Village Investment, Disadvantaged Areas and Transmigration of the Ministry of PDTT, the Director-General of Village Development for the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Director-General for the Acceleration of Development of Disadvantaged Areas. The three Director Generals presented the central government's agenda to support the acceleration of Tomini Bay to become a Special Economic Area.
This activity was also attended by Heads of BAPPEDA in Tomini Bay, Heads of the Tourism, Fisheries and Maritime Affairs, Agriculture Office, representatives of villages, and representatives of village assistants in provinces across Tomini Bay.
Held by Faculty of Education Universitas Negeri Gorontalo and supported by ten universities as co-hosts and an organisation.
