Gorontalo: We are going through Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr in 1442 again amid the unfinished Covid-19 pandemic.
Gorontalo is currently at an economic and socio-political nadir in the current pandemic. The challenge for Gorontalo to survive amid a pandemic requires the collaboration of all elites, said Gorontalo State University Rector Dr. Eduart Wolok, ST., MT.
"Without His grace and guidance, we are nothing and may not be able to survive. The momentum of Eid al-Fitr is a place and opportunity that must be used as well as possible. This momentum is a momentum to unite and collaborate," he said.
Eduart added that Eid al-Fitr is the right moment to erase grudges and hatred between Gorontalo people, especially the elites.
"Our potential is extraordinary. In Jakarta, we have 3 Ministers; there is Deputy Speaker of the DPR and the MPR. We have Governors, Deputy Governors, Regents, and Mayors in the regions, and many legislative members and potential elites. This opportunity and potential rarely come twice," he said.
Eduart reminded again that the moment of Eid al-Fitr is very important to apologize to each other. Join hands to think about Gorontalo's future, both in the short term how to survive the pandemic and in the long term how to recover and prepare to rise.
"We all have to take this momentum to reflect en masse. Do not let the momentum of Ramadan and Idul Fitri go without a deep impression on our conscience," explained Eduart, who is also the Deputy Chairperson of the PBSI Executive Board.
