Following the Covid-19 National Vaccination Roadmap, President Joko Widodo has given directions for free vaccination in stages for all levels of society. In stage 2, the Covid-19 vaccination is prioritized for public servants, including educators and education personnel (PTK).

The Covid-19 vaccination is given to PTK at all levels of education, starting from PTK at the PAUD/RA/equivalent, SD/MI/equivalent, and SLB levels. Furthermore, PTK is at the level of SMP/MTs/equivalent, SMA/MA/equivalent, and SMK. In the last stage, vaccines will be given to PTK at a higher education level or equivalent.

The Director-General of Higher Education (Dikti) of the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud), Prof. Nizam, said in Jakarta, Sunday (7/3). "Referring to the President's direction, the Covid-19 vaccination will later be given to all levels of a society free of charge and gradually, including for students".

The Covid-19 vaccination has been given to students since stage 1 of vaccination, namely to medical students who are undergoing educational practice at the Covid-19 Referral Hospital. "The Ministry of Education and Culture continues to coordinate with the Ministry of Health to provide vaccination services for residents of the education unit," explained Prof. Nizam.

Regarding the preparation for face-to-face learning (PTM), since January 2021, university leaders can allow face-to-face lectures according to health protocols based on a Joint Decree (SKB) of the Minister of Education and Culture, Minister of Religion, Minister of Health, and Minister of Home Affairs.

"The Decree of the Four Ministers, which was announced in November 2020. University leaders can allow student activities on campus if they meet the health protocols and policies of the Director-General of Higher Education," explained Prof. Nizam. The policy in question contains the Circular Letter of the Directorate General of Higher Education Number 6 of 2020 concerning the Implementation of Learning in the Even Semester of the 2020/2021 Academic Year.

"Before the presence of the Covid-19 national vaccination, education unit leaders have been encouraged to accelerate face-to-face learning according to the conditions of the education unit and by implementing health protocols." Said the Director-General of Higher Education, while urging that there be no misperceptions regarding when campuses and schools can reopen on a limited basis.

"Thus, the Covid-19 vaccination can accelerate the preparation of face-to-face learning in higher education environments. I hope that all citizens of higher education can be patient and continue to support this vaccination program," concluded the Director-General of Higher Education.
